Compose your own poem in response to or inspired by Naomi Shihab Nye's All Things Not Considered.
 - Write a 1-2 line introduction to your poem.
 - Explain what triggered the response or inspiration.

This is my answering poem to the poem " All Things Not Considered" by Naomi Shihab Nye. It has inspired to write about the sufferings that these people go through in the name of power, money and religion.

Things that Should be Considered

My eyes reading the words,
forming the pictures in my mind
of how blood, innocent blood is drawn
from a young boy, not even twenty.
Had no wish to die yet, still full of life,
rudely snuffed out by the bullet of a gun.

Or how,
a baby girl's life
had no chance to live
was buried while still breathing,
in the cold, dark, unforgiving earth,
by her Arab father on crutches
cursing the ugly world
they are now in.

Children learning not their joys of childhood,
but learning of violence,
of guns and bullets,
of killing of all that is considered holy.

Sadness being felt by husbands,
wives, daughters and sons,
for the loss of love taken too soon,
the fear felt every single day,
when they step out,
wondering will they die or not today?
being shot for being outside at the wrong time.

The eyes that read the words,
of this poem,
can only feel pity for these people in the poem,
Asel Asleh and Mohammed al- Durra,
the right and wrong of people's actions ,
not considered or thought of
death comes to all
until one day justice and peace
comes upon that land.

The generations of black
will become the generations of colour,
blue, green, white, yellow
all that is not dark
will become light again.
smiles will come upon
these faces one day.
